Prior to the health crisis caused by COVID-19, the City already stood out for its public bicycle system, with exclusive and safe routes for its use. Following the isolation measures, the need to abandon mass transport to reduce the possibility of contagion exponentially increased the use of bicycles.

The network of bicycle paths is 288 km long and we will continue to expand it, as we are convinced that this is one of the key elements to ensure that more and more citizens adopt this sustainable means of transport. Likewise, we have integrated different strategic points of the City, such as transit hubs (Centros de transbordo), among which hospitals, universities and schools stand out.

In the same vein, through the development of the network, we aim to reach low-density areas and vulnerable neighborhoods in order to integrate all the people living in the City. We also intend to develop more protected and properly marked bicycle paths that guarantee road safety and encourage their use.

In 2010 we created Ecobici, the City's public bicycle system, a service available 24 hours a day, all year round.

At the present time, our bike’s system has 320 open stations and a large fleet of 3,200 bicycles. Also we have registered that over 400,000 daily trips made in Buenos Aires are by bike. This represents 10.2% of all the rides in the city.

¿Did you know that we created Ecobici in 2010? It is the City's public bicycle system available 24/7/365.
