Every time it rains, the pumping stations pump water that is collected by the stormwater network and then discharged into the hydraulic system through the more than 29,000 drains in the city. The City has 10 pumping stations and we carry out periodic maintenance once a month. In this way, neither the inhabitants nor the infrastructure are affected.

The operation of the network is complemented by a series of hydrometeorological sensors that transmit data to a control center. This provides information on the main problems in the City's water basins, including the flow contained in the conduits and the water level in each one. In this way, we have an accurate, real-time assessment of the overall state of the stormwater system.

In addition to these tools, the Storm Early Warning System (SAT in Spanish) allows us to analyze and evaluate storm forecasts about the City, it warns of probable flooding and improves the management of emergency situations. The system is equipped with a network of 34 automatic meteorological and hydrological stations, and is integrated with the Single Coordination and Control Center.

Check out the real-time Information System, which allows us to anticipate the arrival of different weather phenomena in the City:

Did you know that we incorporated 46 sensors to the hydrometeorological network throughout the City?
