El Pride Café es un espacio icónico de la diversidad y convivencia en el Casco Histórico. Inaugurado en el año 2004, el Pride Café fue el primer bar diurno para la comunidad LGBTIQ+ con el principal objetivo de integrarse con la comunidad y en defensa de la igualdad.
Hasta ese momento, la comunidad LGBTIQ+ contaba con bares, discotecas y clubes pero todos de funcionamiento nocturno, tal vez por la discreción que la oscuridad de la noche ofrecía.
Según las palabras de Alex Follmann y Rolo Azpeitía, sus dueños, frente a esta situación sintieron la necesidad de tener un espacio para el colectivo que funcionara de día, abierto a la comunidad y con el objetivo de integrar e integrarse al entorno, a las familias, a la comunidad, dejando atrás la nocturnidad, como dicen ellos, como una manera de “mostrarle al mundo que somos como todos”.
En el año 2010 fue aprobada en Argentina la Ley de Matrimonio Igualitario, conviertiendola en el primer país de Latinoamérica y décimo en el mundo en garantizar el derecho a contraer matrimonio a parejas del mismo sexo en las mismas condiciones que las parejas heterosexuales.
Actualmente, el Pride Café es un espacio frecuentado por toda la comunidad cumpliendo así el objetivo de integración con el que fue creado.

In 2010, the Same-sex Marriage Law was approved in Argentina, making it the first country in Latin America and the tenth in the world to guarantee the right to marry to same-sex couples under the same conditions as heterosexual couples.
Currently, the Pride Café is a space frequented by the entire community, thus fulfilling the objective of integration with which it was created.
