La Casa Colectiva Bernardino Rivadavia es el segundo edificio construido por la Comisión Nacional de Casas Baratas en 1921.
La Comisión fue creada por Ley Nacional en el año 1915, gracias al impulso del diputado cordobés Juan Cafferata y tenía como objetivo combatir la escasez de vivienda obrera en la Argentina a comienzos del siglo XX.
El edificio posee una fachada de estilo academicista. En este tipo de arquitectura, las fachadas muchas veces están organizadas simétricamente, como en este caso. El eje de simetría, central, está destacado con un cuerpo saliente y un frontis, una terminación de forma triangular que, además, destaca el nombre del edificio. También, podés ver cómo se diferencian el basamento, con locales comerciales, el desarrollo de la fachada, con las ventanas de las viviendas, y el remate, con una cornisa decorativa.
The Bernardino Rivadavia Collective House is the second building constructed by the National Commission of Cheap Houses in 1921.
The Commission was created by National Law in the year 1915, thanks to the impulse of the Cordoban deputy Juan Cafferata and its purpose was to solve the shortage of workers' housing in Argentina at the beginning of the 20th century.
The building has an academicist style façade. In this type of architecture, the facades are often arranged symmetrically, as in this case. The central axis of symmetry is highlighted with a projecting body and a frontispiece, a triangular-shaped termination, which also highlights the name of the building. In addition, the base, with commercial premises, the development of the facade, with the windows of the dwellings, and the top, with a decorative cornice, are differentiated.
