Every year Buenos Aires hosts “Ventana Sur”, an event focused on the latin-american market co organized by INCAA and the Marché du Film. Ventana Sur has become the Latin American Film Market. Each year, it receives more than 2,000 accredited members, among whom there are more than 300 buyers and sellers from across the globe.
During the market, there are theatres available where films are screened daily, offering potential buyers the chance to watch them on the big screen. The market also includes the presence of distribution companies, large areas where buyers and sellers can hold business meetings, several conference rooms as well as specific activities for producers and buyers.
In this opportunity, as a member of the Latin-American Film Commission Network (LAFCN), the Buenos Aires Film Commission participated in a special Film Commission Workshop organized by the Latin-American Training Center (LATC) and sponsored by the LAFCN. BACF shared with the audience the experience of having an online system for filming permits, and how it was articulated through the years. The economic benefits of having a film commission, the international promotion of locations and film commission, were some of the important topics the workshop was about. Ventana Sur is the perfect spot in Latin American for business and networking.
