The International Solar Cities Initiative (ISCI) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2003, dedicated to promoting sustainable action in urban energy around the globe. In order to achieve a reduction and stabilization of carbon dioxide emissions by 2050, ISCI seeks to create an Urban Energy Use Plan based on a global target for per capita emissions. ISCI also promotes available technical, social, political, and economic resources to reach this goal.
