Este año, vuelve el Festival y Mundial de Tango BA, un evento increíble, que reúne a tanguerxs de todo el mundo, con referentes y fanáticxs del género. Por eso, ya abrimos las inscripciones para participar en la edición 2021 del Mundial de Baile, que tendrá lugar entre el 16 y el 26 de septiembre.
Por este año, debido al contexto mundial, las parejas podrán participar en formato presencial o virtual, midiéndose ambas modalidades en una única competencia, de la que saldrán lxs nuevxs campeones mundiales de Tango de Pista y Tango Escenario. Esta modalidad está especialmente diseñada para que todxs lxs bailarines participen y sean evaluadxs en igualdad de condiciones desde cualquier parte del mundo.
Desde cualquier lugar del planeta, podrán inscribirse bailarinxs amateurs y profesionales, mayores de 18 años, para competir en la categoría Tango de Pista (presencial o virtual) y/o Tango Escenario (presencial o virtual).

COMPETENCIA PRESENCIAL:
Previo a cada instancia (clasificatoria, semifinal y final) los participantes deberán acreditar un certificado de COVID Negativo realizado 24 hrs antes de su presentación. (Aquí un link para ver los diferentes centros de testeo gratuito de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires). Así mismo, deberán completar y firmar una Declaración Jurada declarando no tener síntomas compatibles con el COVID. Las parejas de Tango de Pista deberán bailar con barbijo.
Tango de Pista:
- Rondas Clasificatorias: 18 y 19 de septiembre de 2021, Usina del Arte desde las 12 h. En esta edición, a diferencia de años anteriores, cada pareja bailará una sola vez una ronda de tres tangos. La fecha de citación será alguno de estos dos días. Será evaluada por 10 jurados (misma cantidad de jurados que en ediciones anteriores evaluaban a cada pareja en esta instancia).
- Semifinal: 22 de septiembre de 2021, Usina del Arte desde las 12 h. Cada pareja bailará una sola vez, será evaluada por 6 jurados.
- Final: 25 de septiembre de 2021, espacio a confirmar. Cada pareja bailará una sola vez, será evaluada por 7 jurados.
Tango Escenario:
- Rondas Clasificatorias: 20 y 21 de septiembre de 2021, Usina del Arte desde las 11 h. En esta edición, a diferencia de años anteriores, cada pareja bailará una sola vez su coreografía alguno de estos dos días. Será evaluada por 10 jurados (misma cantidad de jurados que en ediciones anteriores evaluaban a cada pareja en esta instancia).
- Semifinal: 23 de septiembre de 2021, Usina del Arte desde las 11 h. Cada pareja bailará una sola vez, será evaluada por 6 jurados.
- Final: 25 de septiembre de 2021, espacio a confirmar. Cada pareja bailará una sola vez, será evaluada por 7 jurados.
COMPETENCIA VIRTUAL
Tango de Pista:
Rondas Clasificatorias: El 10 de septiembre las parejas recibirán los temas seleccionados para que bailen. Deberán enviar su video respetando las pautas consignadas en el reglamento antes del 12 de septiembre a la medianoche (hora Argentina). Los videos serán evaluados por 10 jurados los días 18 y 19 de septiembre en la Usina del Arte.
Aclaramos que se solicitan los videos con antelación para asegurar calidad técnica y poder compilarlos en rondas de cuatro videos a pantalla dividida.Semifinal: El 19 de septiembre, tras las clasificatorias presenciales, se definirá qué parejas pasan a la semifinal. Se le enviará esa misma noche a esas parejas los temas que deberán bailar. Deberán enviar su video respetando las pautas consignadas en el reglamento antes del 20 de septiembre a la medianoche (hora Argentina). Los videos serán evaluados por los mismos 6 jurados que evaluarán la competencia presencial el día 22 de septiembre en la Usina del Arte.
- Final: El 22 de septiembre, tras las semifinales presenciales, se definirá qué parejas pasan a la final. Se le enviará esa misma noche a esas parejas los temas que deberán bailar. Deberán enviar su video respetando las pautas consignadas en el reglamento antes del 23 de septiembre a la medianoche (hora Argentina). Los videos serán evaluados por los mismos 7 jurados que evaluarán la competencia presencial, viéndolos junto al público en pantalla gigante durante la final presencial el día 25 de septiembre.
Tango Escenario:
- Rondas Clasificatorias: Las parejas deberán decir una frase específica antes del inicio de cada video. Dicha frase será enviada por correo electrónico el día 14 de septiembre y deberán entregar los videos a más tardar el 16 de septiembre a la medianoche (hora Argentina). Los videos serán evaluados por 10 jurados los días 20 y 21 de septiembre en la Usina del Arte.
- Semifinal: Si bien la coreografía puede ser la misma en las diferentes instancias, se solicita a las parejas que envíen nuevos videos en cada etapa. El 21 de septiembre, tras las clasificatorias presenciales, se definirá qué parejas pasan a la semifinal. Se le enviará esa misma noche a esas parejas la frase que deben decir al enviar sus videos. Deberán enviar su video respetando las pautas consignadas en el reglamento antes del 22 de septiembre a la medianoche (hora Argentina). Los videos serán evaluados por los mismos 6 jurados que evaluarán la competencia presencial el día 22 de septiembre en la Usina del Arte.
- Final: El 23 de septiembre, tras las semifinales presenciales, se definirá qué parejas pasan a la final. Deberán enviar su video respetando las pautas consignadas en el reglamento antes del 24 de septiembre a la medianoche (hora Argentina). Los videos serán evaluados por los mismos 7 jurados que evaluarán la competencia presencial, viéndolos junto al público en pantalla gigante durante la final presencial el día 25 de septiembre.
Recordamos que la inscripción se completa en la instancia de acreditación. Los bailarines inscritos recibirán la información detallada en sus correos a partir del 2 de septiembre. Recomendamos chequear frecuentemente el correo electrónico así como la casilla de correos no deseados (SPAM).

Registration to the Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup
You can already register to compete in the TANGO BA Dance World Cup 2021!
Until August 31st, registration to participate in the 2021 edition of TANGO BA Dance World Cup is open. The event will take place from September 16th to September 26th. For this year, and taking into consideration the current epidemiological situation, couples have the possibility to participate in presential or virtual format, measuring both modalities in a single competition to decide who will be the new world champions of Tango de Pista and Stage Tango. Amateur and professional dancers, over 18 years old, may register to compete in the Tango de Pista category (presential or virtual) and/or Stage Tango (presential or virtual). COMPETITION IN PRESENTIAL FORMAT
Prior to each stage of the competition (qualifying, semifinal and final), participants must prove a Negative COVID certificate made 24 hours before their presentation. (Here is a link to see the different free testing centers of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires). Likewise, they must complete and sign a sworn statement declaring they do not have symptoms compatible with COVID. Tango de Pista couples must dance with a chinstrap.
Tango de Pista:
Qualifying Rounds: September 18th and 19th, 2021, at the Usina del Arte from 12 noon.
In this edition, unlike in previous years, each couple will dance a round of three tangos only once. The citation date will be one of these two days. It will be evaluated by 10 juries (the same number of jurors that in previous editions evaluated each couple in this stage).
Semifinal: September 22nd, 2021, at the Usina del Arte from 12 noon.
Each couple will dance only once, it will be evaluated by 6 jurors.
Final: September 25th, 2021, venue and time to be confirmed.
Each couple will dance only once, it will be evaluated by 7 jurors.
Stage Tango:
Qualifying Rounds: September 20th and 21st, 2021, at the Usina del Arte from 11 a.m.
In this edition, unlike in previous years, each couple will dance their choreography only once on one of these two days. It will be evaluated by 10 juries (the same number of jurors that in previous editions evaluated each couple in this stage).
Semifinal: September 23th, 2021, at the Usina del Arte from 11 a.m.
Each couple will dance only once, it will be evaluated by 6 jurors.
Final: September 25th, 2021, venue and time to be confirmed.

COMPETITION IN VIRTUAL FORMAT
Tango de Pista:
Qualifying Rounds: On September 10th the couples will receive the selected songs to be danced. They must send their video respecting the guidelines set forth in the official Rules before September 12th at midnight (Argentine time). The videos will be evaluated by 10 jurors on September 18th and 19th at the Usina del Arte.
We clarify that the videos are requested in advance to ensure technical quality and to be able to compile them in rounds of four split-screen videos.
Semifinal: On September 19th, after the presential qualifying rounds, it will be defined which couples go to the semifinal. The songs they will have to dance will be sent to those couples that same night. They must send their video respecting the guidelines set forth in the official Rules before September 20 at midnight (Argentine time). The videos will be evaluated by the same 6 jurors that will evaluate the presential competitors on September 22nd at the Usina del Arte.
- Final: On September 22, after the presential semifinals, it will be defined which couples go to the final. The songs they will have to dance will be sent to those couples that same night. They must send their video respecting the guidelines set forth in the official Rules before September 23th at midnight (Argentine time). The videos will be evaluated by the same 7 juries that will evaluate the presential competitors, watching them together with the public on a giant screen during the presential final on September 25th.
Stage Tango:
- Qualifying Rounds: The couples must say a specific phrase before the start of each video. The phrase will be sent by email on September 14th and the videos must be delivered no later than September 16th at midnight (Argentine time). The videos will be evaluated by 10 jurors on September 20th and 21st at the Usina del Arte.
- Semifinal: Although the choreography may be the same in the different stages, couples are asked to submit new videos at each stage. On September 21st, after the presential qualifying rounds, it will be defined which couples go to the semifinal. That same night, the couples will receive by email the phrase to be said when recording and sending their videos. They must send their video respecting the guidelines set forth in the official Rules before September 22nd at midnight (Argentine time). The videos will be evaluated by the same 6 jurors that will evaluate the presential competitors on September 22nd at the Usina del Arte.
Final: On September 23th, after the presential semifinals, it will be defined which couples go to the final. They must send their video respecting the guidelines set forth in the regulations before September 24 at midnight (Argentine time). The videos will be evaluated by the same 7 jurors that will evaluate the presential competition, watching them together with the public on a giant screen during the presential final on September 25th.
We remind you that the registration will be completed in the check-in instance. Registered dancers will receive detailed information in their emails from September 2nd. We recommend checking your email frequently as well as the spam box.
